Interesting architecture. The internal restaurant was able to serve a really nice dinner and service was first rate! Be aware this part of market is at the "edge" of the nicer part of market street.
No wifi. Gave us a single instead of a double room. Very limited TV channels. Loud...very very loud. Extremely thin walls. I heard the ppl down the hall sneeze as if they were in my room. Staff wasn't very accommodating. Slow and small elevators. Overall, I would never stay here again.
The room was adorable, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was super friendly. The 24/7 coffee and water was a nice touch as were the 3pm cookies. The hotel and experience overall far exceeded my expectations.
The best thing about this hotel was that they offered cookies in the late afternoon, and all day tea/coffee. Room and beds are small. No air conditioning in the room. In room coffee was not replenished. Bathroom very outdated. Room service did not clean the room, all they did was make the bed. The elevator is old and frightening. Staff is very curt with guests.
The hotel is centrally located near everything. The staff is nice and the facility is kept clean. No AC; and, we had to sleep with the windows open. While sleeping with the windows open is not bad, we had to put up with the noisy city life.
Cheap, in downtown, gated lot for parking outskirts of rough neighborhood, my family was uncomfortable walking around at night. Staff seemed friendly or aloof, depending on who was there. Elevator works only when all doors on all floors are closed, so you might have to take stairs. $30 parking/night
Parking garage is $45 Small restroom and no fridge
Typical chain hotel amenities, and comfy bed. Good location. Housekeeping came in the room at 7am to me pushing them out saying come back later. If she had it her way she'd clean around me and make me into the sheets go get her job done. Hidden fees. Add $100 extra to your bill for "taxes and other costs". Parking is $50 a night
The very helpful staff and the cozy atmosphere of the hotel.
Friendly people at reception
Was pleasantly surprised by the room (everything is brand new) and by the end of 5-night stay it felt like home. Housekeeping does a great job. Rooms aren't the most spacious but it's perfect for a vacation where you'll only be in the room to sleep. Breakfast could have had more variety. same stuff every day but hey it's free and that's a big plus in San Francisco.
Bed was comfy Employees were very unhelpful
The set up of the hotel was great. There is a heated pool on the middle, with swimming up until midnight. You can still swim even when it very cold outside. All the room doors face each other, which makes for a fun, friendly atmosphere. The eatery on site is AMAZING! I'm not kidding when I say this, it was probably one of the best places I've eaten. It's filled with old record albums and has a cool, sexy vibe. My husband was playing in a show/concert that night so we were all able to walk to the Regency Ballroom...it's very close. To have free parking right outside so you have access to your car is almost unheard of and very convenient. This is the place for fun, and they do quiet everything down after midnight. Don't go here for peace and relaxation though. It is not for that. It's for fun swimming, good accommodations, location, eating and enjoying life. The staff was amazing and we really appreciated them being so nice and welcoming. They seemed genuinely happy to see us..for real! For a fun night out in the city this is now my go to place and if that's what your looking for this is the best spot. I also saw a bunch (I mean about 5 groups) of bachelorette parties. This a super place for that and for eating brunch or going out for drinks. Only drawback is it could use some minor updating, but not enough to not want to stay there. It's overpriced a bit but so is every place in SF. It's worth the money so get your bathing suit, or not, and go rock out!
Restaurant/bar Walking from Bart to hotel the streets were littered with crack heads and heroine users. Dozens were using right in front of us and some were passed out with needles in their arm. One was passed out in front of the lobby enterance. Also, hotel bar and restaurant closed on Sunday and Monday.
Better than anything else at the price.
Proximity to cable cars and trolley cars to go to Fishermans Wharf, was very good just steps away from hotel to catch the trolley cars. The front staff were very brisk with us, there were homeless people on the stairs outside of our hotel room, thankfully they were gone in the evening. Had to pay $17 for parking at the hotel, and sign a waiver that all valuables would not be kept in the car... I assume due to the clientele of the people in the area.
